Admin Guide Dashboard

Log in to BI Hub application with admin's username/password. Switch to the administrator mode by selecting the Admin mode button at the top right corner.

Upon successfully configuring the Agents, connecting the directory services, and a few successful synchronizations, the landing page displays four tiles:

1. Instances Configured#

This section lists the instances configured, number of Reports synched, Agent's Server URL, Instance Port number, and Instance Status. The instances are managed from the Instance Manager screen.

2. Authentication Configured#

This section summarizes the user account types with Authentication Name, Type, and Status. These accounts are managed in the Authentication section.

3. Components Configured#

The components like Elastic Search, Message Queue, and SMTP configured during Server configuration are listed in this section. You can view the Component Name, Server, Port, and Status indicator.

4. Synchronization Information#

In this section, you can view the detailed summary of the syncs that were triggered from the Agent Manager > Instance Manager, and Authentication sections.

  • Select Synchronization Information.

  • To view the recent activities over a period, click on the Calendar icon and select the period as Today, Yesterday, Last 7 Days, Last 30 days, This month, Last month, or select your Custom range.

  • Select the type of synchronization you want to view the details of: Sync Users/Sync Reports/Report Metadata Update/Sync Authentication.

Sync Users#

In the Synchronization Information screen, you get the Sync Type, success/failure Status of the sync process, Last updated at timestamp, Last updated by username, and Agent Instance(s) names.

The users that are synchronized are categorized as:

  • Inserted: New Users added to the Agents
  • Updated: Existing users updated that are common to the selected Agents
  • Excluded: Users not common to the selected Agents

To download the detailed logs of the sync process, select Download Logs.

Sync Reports#

In the Synchronization Information screen, you get the Sync Type, success/failure Status of the sync process, Last updated at timestamp, Last updated by username, and Agent Instance(s) names.

The synchronized reports are categorized as:

  • New: New reports added into BI Hub.
  • Updated: Those Reports that already exist in BI Hub for other users and given access for new users.
  • Revoked: Reports for which access is revoked for the user from the platform.

To view the number of users affected by the sync, click on No. of Users column. The list of users is listed in the column on the left.

Select the download icon to Download Logs for the sync.

Report Metadata Update#

After you Manage Reports to assign/un-assign reports to a user, you must run a Sync Metadata for the affected agent. To view the sync details, select Home > Synchronization Information > Report Metadata Update.

In the Synchronization Information screen, you get the Sync Type, success/failure Status of the sync process, Last updated at timestamp, and Last updated by username.

A list of reports Assigned and Unassigned is displayed. You can view further details like the Report Name, Agent, Path, and Users.

In the Synchronization Information screen, you get the Sync Type, success/failure Status of the sync process, Last updated at timestamp, and Last updated by username.

The list displays the user's Fullname, Authentication User Name, and Authentication Type.
